DISHING OUT CHOICES

Say: “We’re going to work together as a team!
But I want YOU to be in charge of how we work together. We’re going to put the clean dishes away. You get to choose how to help. Let’s go!”

Give your child the choice of which dishes they want to help with.

For example:
Do you want to put the cups away or the plates? Do you want to put away the silverware or the bowls?

When the dishes are completed, thank your child for taking charge, making choices, and helping. To celebrate, allow your child to choose a song to play when you are
finished.

Say: “Thank you for helping me with the dishes. I love that we were able to work as a team. I know I can trust you to get the job done. Did you know we can honor God everyday with the choices we make? We can choose to show kindness to others. We can choose to listen to our teachers. We can choose to clean up our messes. We can choose to thank God for His blessings. God calls us to honor him with the choices we make. Share a choice you’ve made recently that honors God.”
